Last week we wrote that Law and Justice is considering changes to the Senate ordinance on Gazeta.pl. This would mean the liquidation of the single-member constituencies.

Changes in the electoral law? Tomasz Grodzki: Electoral games

The matter was commented on by the Senate Marshal in a briefing on Wednesday. – I would like to remind you that ‘the father of single-member constituencies’ was Mr Kukiz, who recently said that there is war and that it is not the time to talk about changes in the electoral law. Now I hear that the issue will be accelerated by the liquidation of single-member constituencies in the Senate. This is like against his intentions, because there will be bigger districts, three or four senators each. I think it is a kind of electoral games – said Tomasz Grodzki. -If the question gets to the Senate, we will treat it in the most serious way, consistent with the constitution-he stressed.

Kaczyński wants to “tinker” with Kukiz in the electoral law. Purpose: Senate

Marek Pęk, vice president of the Senate of the PiS, commented on the news on Radio ZET. – If there are such ideas, they are obviously legal. They just need to be done well in advance, before the election date. Such arguments are always open, he said. The senator admitted that “such a thing can always be considered and debated”.

Radosław Fogiel: Various analyzes are underway

In turn, Radosław Fogiel, deputy and deputy representative of PiS, said in the morning interview with Gazeta.pl that the proposed changes to the electoral law “have been reported by the community of Paweł Kukiz”. “No decision has been made so far,” he said. -It is not uncommon that various analyzes are underway, not recently, of various solutions that will make the provisions of the Electoral Code itself, perhaps, more consistent with today’s reality-he admitted. “This is not an ad,” he stressed.

Meanwhile, at 2 pm on Friday, a meeting of the Political Committee on Law and Justice has been called. It will consider any proposed changes to the party organization. They provide, among other things, the division of structures into 100 districts and the prohibition of combining party and ministerial functions for district leaders. The changes in the party’s internal structures were announced last week by PiS President Jaros³aw Kaczynski at a meeting of the party’s parliamentary club.
