There was a lot of Premier League football being played throughout the month of January and, as such, there were many outstanding saves made by the best goalkeepers in the league.

Six of these outstanding saves managed to make the January 2023 Castrol Save of the Month shortlist.

And here they are:

1. Lukasz Fabianski – Leeds (01/04/23)

In one of the best matches of 2023 so far, Lukasz Fabianski made a fantastic save to deny Rodrigo what looked like a certain goal, fighting back well to turn the Leeds forward’s point-blank header over the bar.

2. Emiliano Martinez – Leeds (13/1/23)

Emiliano Martinez has enjoyed quite a big few months, winning the World Cup and Golden Glove award at the tournament.

The World Cup winner kept up the good times in January by making another brilliant save in Villa’s win over Leeds United.

Running across his own line to follow up a low cross from the right wing, Martinez put himself in the perfect position to deny Jack Harrison a goal from just three yards out.

3. Aaron Ramsdale – Tottenham (15/1/23)

Ramsdale turned in arguably a career-best performance in Arsenal’s North London derby decider against Tottenham in January.

His choice of saves in the game was undoubtedly one he made with his left foot, hitting a perforated shot from Ryan Sessegnon just wide of the post.

4. Kepa Arrizabalaga – Crystal Palace (15/1/23)

October 2022 winner of Castrol Save of the Month is back with another nomination, this time for his important save against Crystal Palace.

Kepa was at full strength to deflect Abdoulaye Doucouré’s thunderous shot over the bar to earn Chelsea three valuable points.

5. David De Gea – Crystal Palace (18/1/23)

Virtually all Manchester United players have been in top form this January and David De Gea is no exception.

The United number one was on hand to push Odsonne Edouard’s great shot over the bar in a 1-1 draw with Crystal Palace.

6. Nick Pope v Crystal Palace (21/1/23)

That’s right, three Castrol Save of the Month nominations are saves made in matches against Palace. You have to feel sorry for them at this point.

This came courtesy of one of the goalkeepers who has conceded just 11 goals so far this season, when Newcastle’s Nick Pope made another fantastic save to deny Jean-Philippe Mateta at Selhurst Park.
