As it happens every year , in the final weeks of December many public bodies, institutes and sector observers publish data relating to their study objects. Often they are reworked or crossed with each other, in order to be able to obtain rankings that allow you to draw as complete a picture as possible.

Many of them concern pleasant and sometimes reassuring areas and categories: they range from the best hospitals in Italy to the most popular places during the holidays, up to the ranking of the most consumed pandoro during the holidays. Recently, however, the Ministry of the Interior has released the numbers of the 2021 relating to an activity that is not really meritorious: these are the car thefts carried out during the last twelve months.

Car theft, the most affected regions and the most dangerous cities

The Department of Public Security – hinged in the department headed by Minister Luciana Lamorgese – has drawn up a crime index for the year 2021. Thanks to this, you have numbers provided by mayors and prefectures of major Italian cities: the data communicated by local administrations does not only concern car thefts, but in general all crimes and the crimes committed (or only reported) with greater frequency.

Also in this case a ranking has emerged. Here are the first 20 positions of the most dangerous provinces of 2021:

Barletta-Andria-Trani Catania Foggia Bari Naples Rome Brindisi Caserta Palermo Milan Salerno Taranto Turin Syracuse Campobasso Cosenza Latina Lecce Pescara Monza-Brianza Returning strictly to car thefts, it is also possible to make a comparison between the regions. The primacy belongs to Campania , with the 26% of cars stolen throughout the national territory. In second place is the Lazio with the 18%, closely followed by Puglia (17%). In double figures also the Lombardia and the Sicily with the 11%.
