Several police vehicles were vandalized at a demonstration in the Skäggetorp district of Linköping at 3.30pm.

Two vehicles were set on fire.

Rescue service Östra Götaland confirms to TT that this is a police car and a civilian vehicle.

– But the civilian vehicle burned in a different part of Skäggetorp than where it was concerned, says duty officer Pedher Helmer.

The riots were triggered by the permission of right-wing extremist Rasmus Paludan to hold a public meeting with the intention of burning a copy of the Koran.

Around 3.45pm the police cars had left the scene and the atmosphere had calmed down. But it wasn’t clear if Paludan could start demonstrating him.

Police classify the incident as a violent riot. No one was injured.
