Borussia Dortmund are preparing their bid to keep Jude Bellingham in Germany for another season, with the player close to deciding on his future, sources confirmed to 90 minutes.
Bellingham’s current contract doesn’t expire until 2025, but BVB have admitted they will sell the player this summer if they don’t agree on terms on a new contract and he makes it clear he wants to move on.
Dortmund ideally wants Bellinham stay in Germany for one more season and facilitate the fact that they would make him the highest paid player in their history if he signed a new contract, which also included a generous release clause.
They expect to make their offer in the coming weeks with a view to holding talks with Bellingham in March. 90 minutes he understands. As we revealed last month, the club I’m happy to wait for his decision.
Dortmund made that clear Bellinham, his family and representatives in recent months thinking that staying until 2024 would be to his advantage, similar to how Erling Haaland stayed for an extra year and this benefited him hugely on his move to Manchester City. Bellingham have a number of options to consider with Liverpool, Manchester City and Real Madrid piecing their cases together to convince him they should be his next move.
All three clubs believe they have presented convincing cases on their part and Bellingham’s party has been listening but has yet to give any indication as to where his future might lie. The possibility remains that he will remain in Germany.
This was reported by sources close to all three clubs 90 minutes that everyone maintains confidence that they can land the player, and in that regard things have not changed in the last few weeks awaiting your decision.
The Bellingham camp has also made it abundantly clear that his next move will Not be motivated by money, and it will not only be the biggest offer that comes to the teenager, but the project that attracts him the most.
90 minutes understands it while Bellinham would consider all offers, possible interest from the likes of Chelesa, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Paris Saint-Germain has yet to materialize in the talks.
