Apple releases the macOS Release Candidate 12.2, now available for developers

Apple has just released the Release Candidate for macOS 12.2 for developers. A beta from which, given the pace of the first and second, we don’t expect anything new, although there is always room for the occasional surprise.

A cycle of betas focused on performance, basically

The first beta of macOS 07.2 was released before Christmas . In that first beta, the version notes already revealed to us that we would not see any appreciable change, the biggest change being that now the Music and Apple TV apps will be 30% native. The second beta version arrived in exactly the same way, so we hope that this third beta, the RC, will continue with minor changes, invaluable, focused on performance and stability.

It is true that we are still waiting for the arrival of Universal Control, which will allow us to interact with a iPad or a Mac from the keyboard of our Mac, but for now this is how much we know about this feature. Pending already that in June of 2022, at the WWDC, Apple will present the new macOS 13, we will continue to see developments in beta version of the version 12.x. A version that, in its latest build stable added SharePlay to the Mac and fixed a few bugs in the meantime, step, it improved the performance of compatible machines.

If we want to enter the beta cycle we can do it following these steps or create a bootable installer of the system , but it is necessary to take into account that we are talking about development versions that contain errors.

Already within the beta cycle, we will find the update within System Preferences > Software Update as OTA update. During the first few hours, Apple’s servers may receive more demand than usual, so the waiting time may be longer.
