An unmanned supply ship docks with the International Space Station

Astronauts and cosmonauts aboard the International Space Station had an early morning delivery on Saturday when an unmanned supply ship docked at 4:45am CET.

The Progress 83 ship was carrying three tons of food, fuel and other supplies. You had taken off from the Baikonur Cosmodrome in Kazakhstan.

NASA’s control center monitored the ship’s arrival and released the images.

The ISS has two women and five men aboard, including the crew of Expedition 68.

They are: NASA astronaut Frank Rubio; Roscosmos cosmonaut Dmitri Petelin; Japan Aerospace Exploration Agency (JAXA) astronaut Koichi Wakata; NASA astronauts Josh Cassada and Nicole Mann; and Roscosmos cosmonauts Sergey Prokopyev and Anna Kikina.

In addition to operating the space station and handling docking events, the crew is conducting scientific research with ongoing projects focusing on how microgravity affects brain function and digestion.
