“When In the dark it came out, it really changed,” the actress said The Hollywood Reporteron the 1995 film. “I had been the girl since Squashthen I was the girl from Aerosmith and then after that I was Cher.”
“It was very complicated and I don’t think I know how to handle it: I didn’t have the basis, the good tools to deal with it, I wasn’t prepared in any way, shape or form. I really had no idea what was going on and I just didn’t feel comfortable,” he continued of the sudden fame.
megaThis year, Silverstone reprized her role as Cher Horowitz in a Super Bowl commercial.
“I thought it was a really creative and fun thing to do. I knew we’d have a good director and I could do it again in all the clothes. I know people really like the character because it comes out all the time for me. In terms of reimagining the character, I’ve dabbled in the TikTok world, but I’ve always felt a little embarrassed doing it because I’m just afraid it’s… I’ve had to learn to let go and enjoy it. Of course, that’s why I do it. I’m just having fun. But there was this feeling inside of me that goes, ‘Oh my God, what if this is a disaster?’ When Rakuten asked me to do it, I thought it was a really smart idea—like, completely perfect—because Cher is one of the most iconic buyers in cinematic history,” he said of the opportunity.
“Rakuten would really appeal to Cher because he’s getting his money back for doing his favorite activity, right? Um, oh! I just had to get over the voice in my head that I was going to screw it up and be awful and go for it. I did and it was so much fun. I loved it, I really didn’t want it to end,” she added.
megaDespite the ups and downs, the blonde beauty, 46, is grateful for where she is in her life.
“It’s not easy, being an activist, a mother and an actress all at the same time. But I’m doing my best,” he shared. I keep talking about health commitments and our earth, all of which are really meaningful to me. The most important thing for me is to be fully present with my son. As for acting, I’ll continue to find a way to dabble, to stay there.”
