Russian opposition politician Alexei Navalny has been placed in the isolation cell of the colony for the 16th time since last August.
His associate Ivan Zhdanov has announced Navalny’s further placement in isolation.
On Wednesday evening, Navalny was released from the isolation cell, but this morning he was placed there again.
As Zhdanov announced on Twitter, on Monday morning the administration of the colony decided that Navalny will have to spend the next 15 days in solitary confinement. The reason why Navalny was taken to the isolation ward again is not yet known.
The last time that Navalny was placed in solitary confinement was reported on May 11.
Navalny is located in colony No. 6 in Melekhov, Vladimir region. He was transferred to this colony last June after he was sentenced to nine years in prison in a new case for “fraud and contempt of court”. Navalny emphasizes that all the charges brought against him are fabricated with the aim of limiting his political activity.
Previously, Navalny was also placed in solitary confinement for “bathing at the wrong time”, “walking without an overcoat” and “buttoning his clothes incorrectly”.
