On Saturday a tourist boat with 26 people on board is shipwrecked off the Shiretoko peninsula, near the island of Hokkaido, the northernmost of the archipelago of Japan: after many hours of searching on Sunday morning, rescuers found 10 people, who were rushed to hospital and shortly thereafter declared death; another 16 are still missing. At the moment, the Japanese authorities have not said what caused the shipwreck.
