On Wednesday morning around 11.30 a military plane crashed on Monte Legnone, in the province of Lecco. There were two pilots on board: one of them died, the other was transported to the Niguarda hospital in Milan in serious condition. The plane, an Alenia Aermacchi M346, had left Venegono (in the province of Varese) for testing: it had not yet been delivered to the Air Force, which uses this type of aircraft in the pilot training phases.
